Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, the two University of California graduates who’s “recreational hike” into Iran found them jailed and imprisoned on charges of espionage for more than 2 years, received two incredible pieces of news today.

The first came this morning when Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, announced to the surprise of many that the two will be released on bail this Thursday.

If that wasn’t exciting enough for the two prisoners, just a few hours later they learned that Fox Entertainment has offered them a lucrative deal to host a new reality television series called “Biggest Asshole”, a show where contestants will be asked to commit stupid, suicidal acts for no apparent reason at all.

“Josh and Shane were overjoyed to hear they will be released from prison and able to return home” said a legal spokesman who spoke to the two only moments earlier. “They also wanted to personally thank Fox Entertainment for giving them an opportunity to host a show that will give both contestants and viewers a glimpse of what it felt like to be them on that fateful day when they inexplicably decided to go hiking into a nation run by a tyrannical madman hell bent on destroying America.”

While the show is still very early in the planning stages, one producer offered a glimpse into some of the competitions we may see on “Biggest Asshole”.

“You may see a contestant try to climb over a fence at a local zoo to pet a tiger” said Robert Davis, Fox Entertainment Executive Director. “Another may try to go door to door in rural Texas to explain how 9-11 was America’s own fault. There’s a lot to work with here, the only criteria is that it be the senseless act of a complete imbecile.”

Fox hopes to premier “Biggest Asshole” this fall, pending Bauer and Fattal’s timely release from prison and return home.
